"Dreamville"

"Dreamville" is Tom Petty's sweet, nostalgic ballad about growing up here.
Bob Knight has posted this short video performance of "Dreamville" next to
a picture of Glen Springs pool- part of the song's storyline.
Glen Springs is one of Gainesville's springs- it fed a pool and was a popular swimming hole when Tom was a boy.
Today it looks much different.
I am overcome with such grief when I listen to this song-
Tom seems to echo the whole of Florida- grieving for the disappearing springs-
lamenting a quality of life which is disappearing along with our beloved artesian springs.
Is Florida becoming "Dreamville?"
We have a choice- but getting this message to the mainstream is very difficult.
The People of Florida must stand together to command the well being of Florida's water and
The People of Florida have no clue is our responsibility.
We are choosing to let our springs die by not joining together. To get involved- stay on the Florida Springs Institute's page-and check it out.
The Florida Springs Institute is one entire arm of The Blue Path- a major project of Florida's Eden.
Bob Knight, Dr. Knight is the foremost springs ecologist on the planet- he's here along with so many of the world's springs and aquifer experts- because we are the Earth's grand canyon of fresh water springs.
Are we all going to let them die- we must command policy changes in how we manage our state's water resources. We are over tapping the aquifer and these lower aquifer levels are decreasing the flow of the springs- this is the unnecessary consequence of mismanagement by our state.
Please everyone- we do have a choice- get involved and be the voice for the springs-
Will it be Florida or Dreamville?
Annie
